So this is our super basic video on REITs cause i have received so many questions on Real estate investors that don’t have stock investments yet.

1.How to get reits

It’s just like buying stocks and buying an IPO stock.

*You need a broker - define broker

*Place the order during the offer period

-you cannot buy or reserve early


*Fund your account

*During listing day your fund would reflect there

What if you don’t get to buy before listing?

*You can buy the REIt in the open market just like a normal stock.

2.Minimum amount to invest

Just like a stock it follows normal board lot principles.

Board lot - define board lot
30.05 x 100 = 3,005

Basically just the board lot.

3.lock in period

For IPOs

Under the PSE Consolidated Listing and Disclosure Rules, existing shareholders who own an equivalent of at least 10% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares as of the Listing Date cannot sell, assign or in any manner dispose of their Shares for a minimum period of 180 days after the Listing Date. Thus, the following shall be subject to such lock-up period:

Lock in period are only for people who have substantial stake in the company. If i remember it properly around 10% or if you are also a director.

Which means you can sell it anytime.
